Pre con teaser post! Artwork!

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

As I have to finish a whack of my Clone Wars cards prior to going to the con, here is a teaser of art so I don’t forget to post it.

How Harold Got His Wings

This is the cover for the book! For the final piece I plan on spending about a month doing watercolour studies for painting the Northern Lights. Or I might do the entire book as my first fully digitally painted product. The book at the con has a colour cover, B&W innards.

2010 Convention Sketchbook

Full of a bunch of never seen before arts and a few old favourites.

Aaaand, finally:

Mini Magnets. These little tiny round disks have been painstakingly cut out by hand and are assembled behind a glass bead thing. I’m selling ‘em for $3 or 2 for $5 because they are quite the labour intensive little things. I will have a larger version of the illustrator icons in my digital art gallery post con.

Hey guys and gals! I’ll be at the Toronto Fan Expo this weekend at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre – 27th to 29th.

My location is table P6A – in the ring of guests around the Artist Alley. I’m adjacent to the food court, so I’ll be craving pizza all day.

I will have something for everyone’s pricerange, including

  • ‘How Harold Got His Wings’ – childrens book, $10
  • 2010 Sketchbook – colour cover! $10 with sketch, $7 without

  • The remaining ewok and dragon charms at $5 apiece

  • Original art ranging from $10-$500
  • Convention sketches (Include sketch cards, crayon scribbles, sketch drawings and con badges) from $2.50 – $50*

  • Free signed Star Wars Galaxy 4 base card with every purchase.

I *will!* be helping the 501st with their Star wars Kids hour on Sunday at noon. I’ll teach you how to draw! It’ll be awesome :D

* First come, first serve. I will have a list if things get overwhelming

** Limit one per kid, pieces will be personalized as ‘For *name*’ so they don’t end up as ‘For mysterious Ebay bidder’ :D

Jaxxon Mighty Muggs Strikes Back!

Friday, July 17th, 2009

I was honoured to be asked to participate in the ‘Empire Muggs Back’ charity fundraiser for Lucasfilm.

This Jaxxon Mighty Mugg will be for sale at San Diego Comiccon at the Lucasfilm booth, and all proceeds will go towards the Make A Wish foundation.

For those of you who don’t know, Jaxxon is a 6 foot tall jack rabbit scoundrel from the Marvel Star Wars comic books, so I felt it would just be awesome to turn him into a Mugg.

The lines are a little wobbly, acrylic isn’t my forte, but I had a lot of fun with him :) I learned a lot of things that will help me with my TK project helmet, for sure.
