To be fair to the CCEE people, I won’t be posting the final until shortly before I leave for Calgary, or while I am there
I took the rough and went crazy, it looks completely awesome and I honestly wish I could show it off now. I used a few new techniques in photoshop using shapes and textures and a multitude of new brushes.
So, look out for the art, it’ll be here eventually. For now I need to draw some art that I *CAN* show off!

This is the super super rough version of my submission to the artbook this year. I’m working on getting it done for the deadline and it is coming along just fine!

Expect more art to come. Sorry for the drought, I cannot wait until classes are done so I can do more sketches. I’ve been digging through my old sketchbooks and, man, I used to sketch a lot, so I’m going to channel that again in May for a sketch a day thing to get the creative juices going.

First, have a Pangolin in a Dinner Jacket beanie to start your day! What a dapper fellow.
I will be there, will you?
I’ll have more details as I get them, like a table number and all, but I don’t think I’m in artist alley this time around. For those of you wondering, yes I will be doing the ‘How to Draw Star Wars’ stuff again and I’m looking forward to catching up with all you Calgary folks again. I’m sad to have missed Emerald City Comicon.
I will be offering commissions to be picked up at the con, such as bust sketches, sketch cards, cuties and beanies, look for an announcement in April or May for that. I need to get through the rest of the semester first.

Dude. OK, so I was cleaning out my email and happened upon some old sent mail that I had not deleted for whatever reason. I found the D6 stats for ‘Castaways of Endor’, three short stories (Which I will be polishing and posting sooner or later) (Which I will post so someone can convert them to D20!) some art I’d forgotten I’d done (Including a bunch of Mr Miyagi type judo masters for a judo website, and some art of questionable artistic value) and some art that I had done, but I’d long since lamented their loss, as they were something I lost in a hard drive crash.
Beanies.

Back in 2002 a site I used to frequent had a Beanies game. You would reload pages, and every now and then you would find a beanie. Then you could trade said beanies and such. The game ended up being yanked because it was, understandably, an enormous bandwidth hog. So here they are. beanies. And these kind of represent the historical beginnings of a style I still use today!
Want a beanie? Contact me. Or comment. They’re $7. Keep the details small, I draw them about 2″x2″, flat colour, very fun to do. I have a long weekend and march break. Depending on the volume I get, I’ll let you know how long it’ll take. I’ll be starting them on Friday.
In case you are wondering, characters top to bottom, L-R:
Tarzy, Rody, Oryx, Ianhorous (All from one of the short stories, Fox-shark, Dead Bird Head Guy (x3 – he needs his own web comic), Dragon-Gecko, Chilly (Belongs to a friend of mine), Beacon, Random white tiger, Flying Armadillo, Amara as Ewok, Amara as Sith, Amara as Jedi, Amara as TMBG fan.
Fan art is OK.
I hope you have enjoyed this trip down memory lane!

So, this was my first prototype. it was based off an existing pattern but I didn’t like it so much, so I decided to write my own.

I’m almost done the test knit, these photos are a little old. I have finally gotten the wings sorted out (It only took me five tries, I ended up going with short, fat wings, so they’re a little different than the shape on the drawing below) so when I have time in my busy schedule of studying and trying not to be a complete and utter hermit, I’ll be finishing it off.
Enjoy the teaser pics!

Well, I have pages and pages of doodles that relate to my class notes (They help me remember and are mostly quite hilarious. I’ll scan some sometime for sure).
I very quickly knit a lobster for my brother, and I am in the process of making my own Moonkin pattern. I will need some test knitters for the moonkin once I’m done with it. I’d originally started by knitting a moonkin with an owl pattern from this Christmas’ ‘Knit Simple’ Magazine (I bought it because it has some adorable critter patterns) and while it is disgustingly cute, I decided to write my own from scratch. I knit the knit simple one as I went, so I do have a prototype moonkin that looks adorable, but not moonkinny enough for me.
I’ll do more posting as things go on. For now, here is Francois the lobster. He is knit from this pattern and I kiiiind of messed up the increases/decreases and the placement of his feelers, but my brother thought he was adorable.

Pardon the radio silence, but I have been knitting and doing exams and celebrating Christmas and such. I made these cards for Topps!
The first three are my return cards. If you’d like to put one on hold, just fire me an email. The others will be inserted randomly into packs.

Steve Sansweet with helmet. Click for bigger
When Celebration V hit and my Ewok Trooper helmet made $900 (!) for Make-A-Wish foundation, I’d been wondering who the awesome and mysterious person was who purchased the helmet.
Well, it turns out that good ol’ Steve Sansweet (Who will sadly be leaving Lucasfilm in the spring
) purchased the Ewok trooper and he has let me know it will have a very good home. I don’t doubt it
Steve has many awesome Ewok things that I am unbelievably jealous about (like a first cast of the unproduced Chief Chirpa cartoon action figure.. *grabby hands*) that have very good homes.
He sent me a photo as well! Thanks a ton, Steve.

A fan of mine (Thanks, sandi!) and another friend (Hi, Rachyl!) simultaneously sent me a link to an article about a little girl who is being bullied for liking Star Wars.
I have an enormous issue with this, and not just because I draw Star Wars stuff. I actually think the whole girl/boy line in the sand has gotten too solid. Making everything pink to appeal to girls is sickening in itself.
Anyhoo, about this girl.
Bullying over something as silly as what a girl likes is ridiculous. Especially at such a young age.
While there are a ton of strong female characters in the Star Wars galaxy, girls can like Star Wars for anything. The story, the ‘splosions, the droids and action. I loved Boba Fett when I was Katie’s age. He was my absolute favourite character. When Return of the Jedi came out I was Ewok AND Boba Fett crazy.
Boys and girls would play together. It was awesome. Care bears and Cabbage Patch kids were also marketed as gender neutral toys.

Aayla Secura - a strong female character
Then something changed. Even Care Bears are marketed as a toy for girls. Fisher Price is making gender neutral toys like the popcorn popper pink. it makes me sad
Go support Katie, let her know the boys are being silly and that the people who market things to girls by making them pink are silly, too.
The photo accompanying this post is me, at 11, wearing a pink PJ set (That matched the PJs for my cabbage patch kid, my younger brother had the same PJs, but not pink, including the PJs for HIS cabbage patch kid) with my GT Snoracer and the Grimlock Transformers action figure I wanted more than anything else in the world. I still have Grimlock. When i asked for the transformer I was not told ‘Those are for Boys’.
Parents, kids, everyone, let’s go back to that. The child has a gender, the toys do not.

I moved my site to a new host and all was well, but it appears some of my posts and art have vanished – vanished I say! I will for sure have some new art and figure out hat happened with those posts eventually.
For those who don’t know, life is busy. I am in school taking medical Laboratory Technology and I have little time to draw. However, I do have some awesome things kicking around, like cute, scientific drawings, so I plan on polishing those up soon!
Hearts to you all!
*edit* Ah ha! I found some art.
I did 106 cards for the clone wars season two set this summer. Sadly, I left my markers in Toronto (they have since been returned. Huzzah!) so most of the cards were in pencil. I have them in my sketch card gallery if you want to have a peek, but they aren’t nearly as awesome as some sets.
These will be my returns, once they get to me, and because of my lack of marker, they aren’t as vibrant as usual. I am asking $100 each for Grievous, clone trooper and bossk. $75 each for Hohndo, baby gungan and other baby.
Interested? Let me know! I don’t physically have the cards yet, but I will have them soon.
In other Star wars news, I’ll be doing 50 cards for Star Wars Galaxy 6. Fewer cards + having my markers = more awesomeness for you all.
Although to be perfectly honest I am very very tempted to draw 50 ewoks
